3 Reasons an Ultrasound is Important

You may be wondering if you need an ultrasound, especially if you are unsure how you feel about your pregnancy or if you are still weighing your options.

Here’s 3 reasons an ultrasound at ACPC Women’s Clinic may be important for you:

1.  A positive pregnancy test is usually the first indication you are pregnant, but it can’t really tell you much about your pregnancy.  Only an ultrasound will confirm that your pregnancy is viable (that your pregnancy is growing where it should).

2.  An ultrasound will tell you how far along you are.  This is important when you are considering different options.  Note:  If you are considering abortion, you will need to know how far along you are in order to determine which abortion procedure you will need.  Our medical staff can also provide information on abortion procedures and risks, however, we do not perform or refer for abortion.

3.  Once viability is determined, our medical staff will provide a confirmation of pregnancy, which is necessary for women seeking healthcare coverage such as Medicaid or Colorado Access.

At ACPC, we provide accurate information about all of your options so that you can make an informed decision.
