Originally from North Carolina, Tamra has enjoyed the past 15 years living and working in Pueblo. Following several years in restaurant management, she met and married Brian Axworthy who is now the Executive Chef for District 70 Food and Nutrition Services in Pueblo. The two have been married for 20 years and have two beautiful sons, Kaleb aged 16 and Isaac aged 9.
Prior to joining the ACPC family, Tamra spent 10 years working in Higher Education at PCC and CSU-Pueblo in various capacities. During that time she took on many leadership roles including, and most recently, President of the Statewide Liaison Council of Colorado and CSU-Pueblo Classified Staff Council President. She sat as representative on many university leadership teams and boards where she focused on being a voice for her constituents and worked toward ensuring that all classified staff were treated equitably and as valued members of the university community.
A graduate of the Pueblo Leadership Program, El Pomar participant, PERA Ambassador, President of the Southern Colorado Spay and Neuter Clinic, and student organization adviser for the Pueblo Students for Life, Tamra remains active in her community. She volunteers regularly at her church where she also holds several ministry positions including worship leader, Fusion board member, and helping hands member. Tamra believes that in order to lead one must serve.
Tamra joined the ACPC team in 2014 and is honored to serve as Executive Director. She has since earned her LAS (Life Affirming Specialist) designation through Heartbeat International.
