Adoption as a Parenting Plan

Adoption as a Parenting Plan

Are you considering adoption as a parenting plan?  At ACPC, we not here to persuade you in one direction or another.  We believe the most important service we can provide is to act a as a resource, helping you discover all of your options and access the facts you need to make the best decision for you.

Investigating adoption is a mature and responsible idea, no matter what your final decision turns out to be.   The good thing is that you can take your time because exploring adoption requires no commitments.  In most states adoption cannot be legally finalized until after the baby is born.  Birth parents get to be in control of the adoption plan they make and usually choose between three types of adoption: open, partially open, and confidential. read more

3 Reasons an Ultrasound is Important

3 Reasons an Ultrasound is Important

You may be wondering if you need an ultrasound, especially if you are unsure how you feel about your pregnancy or if you are still weighing your options.

Here’s 3 reasons an ultrasound at ACPC Women’s Clinic may be important for you:

1.  A positive pregnancy test is usually the first indication you are pregnant, but it can’t really tell you much about your pregnancy.  Only an ultrasound will confirm that your pregnancy is viable (that your pregnancy is growing where it should).

2.  An ultrasound will tell you how far along you are.  This is important when you are considering different options.  Note:  If you are considering abortion, you will need to know how far along you are in order to determine which abortion procedure you will need.  Our medical staff can also provide information on abortion procedures and risks, however, we do not perform or refer for abortion. read more
